About Us
We are an independent Christian church and do not belong to any denomination. We know that we are not the only Christians, but we consider ourselves Christians only. We get our authority from the Bible. Where the Bible speaks, we speak. Where the Bible is silent, we are silent. As Christians, we should be united on the truth and flexible in matters of opinion. We want to love God and love people, which Jesus says are the two greatest commandments (Matthew 22:36-40). We do this by worshiping and serving God and by making disciples. Jesus says God is looking for people willing to worship him (John 4:23-24). Jesus has sent his people out into the world to make disciples. This happens by baptizing people and teaching them to obey Jesus (Matthew 28:19-20).
If you visit our church, you may dress casually if you like, but the atmosphere of worship is anything but casual! We aim to provide everyone who attends an opportunity to experience God through worship: singing, prayers, giving, preaching the Bible, fellowship of believers, and the observance of communion every Sunday. We make available the chance to learn more about the life that God offers people through Jesus. We have many opportunities to make this happen, such as Sunday School for all ages every Sunday at 10:10 am and Children's Church during our 9:00 am and 11:00 am services every week. On Wednesdays, we have Core Class Bible Studies for adults, students in 6th-12th grades, and for 5th grade and under at 7:00 pm. We offer small groups that meet during the week. (e.g., women's group and home studies.)
Our goal is to lead people to become devoted followers of Christ by sharing His love. We do this by encouraging individuals to look to God and model our life after Christ (Ephesians 5:1-21). VCC is a tool by which people can come to know, believe, and accept Christ into their life and be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Valued
Vanceburg Christian Church values relationships with Jesus (John 14:6) and all people. We value Sunday morning because of our Love for God and others (Matt. 22: 36-40). Sunday mornings are times when we come together each week and worship God the Father, celebrating Christ's death, burial, and resurrection through communion, the Word, music, and prayer with those who call VCC home.
We hope each worshipper sees value in themselves and the Lord. Our hopes and prayers are that you feel valued while attending our services or events.
Connected
Vanceburg Christian Church values scriptural, spiritual, and relational growth as followers of Christ. For this reason, we hope people who call VCC home participate in a Connection Group. A Connection Group may be a class on Sunday mornings (Sunday school), Wednesday evenings (Core Groups) at the church, or a small group throughout the week. Connection Groups allow each family to grow outside our Sunday morning worship. These groups challenge each person to grow deeper in their faith in Jesus. Connection Groups model the love of God for other people by walking through life together. We hope the people at VCC become connected to Christ and other people.
Community
Vanceburg Christian Church values God's ability to gift people with various skills to further the Kingdom of Heaven. At VCC, we want each individual/family who calls VCC home to use their gifts to serve God and other people. Service takes place through a community of believers when individuals or families participate in a Community Group using their skills, talents, abilities, and calling to serve VCC and others.
